DSI and CorEMR Partner

JUL 28, 2008 – ALTOONA, PA Digital Solutions / Inmate Telephone Inc. and CorEMR announce an ongoing partnership to assist correctional facilities with their inmate medical management needs. The two companies will be providing a fully integrated system so corrections professionals can find a comprehensive answer to the medical needs of every inmate.

The Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system provided by CorEMR saves medical staff time by scheduling inmate health care appointments, maintaining medical records, tracking doctors’ and nurses’ orders as well as prescription distribution and inventory levels. The system provides full access to medical histories, current treatments and future needs, as well as additional collaboration with pharmacies and other external services. The ability to seamlessly integrate with the Offender Management System (OMS) provided by Digital Solutions allows facilities to easily track inmate housing locations and current bookings. The system collaboration allows for efficient management of inmate records and real time communication between a facility’s intake and medical staff.

Digital Solution’s Offender Management System (OMS) is a comprehensive jail management system built on open technology that allows integration with other systems, including the electronic medical records system from CorEMR. It provides a single point of entry while also allowing individual data ownership. The system was constructed on a web-based platform allowing the user to access the system from any network-attached workstation. The system can even be accessed from a home office, enabling users to control their facilities remotely. The system records information on all aspects of an patient’s incarceration including initial intake, charges, sentencing, property, housing, medical, meal planning, scheduling, and temporary release. For increased security, the OMS utilizes digital biometrics to positively identify inmates, increasing accuracy in inmate movement, housing, release, etc.

Current customers benefitting from the integration of DSI’s Offender Management System and the CorEMR medical records system include the Weber County Correctional Facility in Ogden, Utah; Piedmont Regional Jail in Farmville, VA; Adams County Adult Correctional Complex in Gettysburg, PA; Franklin County Prison in Chambersburg, PA; Northampton County Prison and Juvenile Detention Center in Easton, PA and the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center in Winchester, VA. Several other facility contracts are pending.
